SurfaceMicrosoft have confirmed some detail on the forthcoming release of the Surface Pro tablet. Perhaps most amazing of all is that the 64GB version of the tablet will only have 23GB of space available for user storage (that a mere 35%)!

According to MS, the Windows 8 operating system, built-in apps and the recovery tools consume around 41GB .  Users can free up addition space by creating a recovery USB stick however no word on what size that would account for.

The 128GB model will have 83GB available to users.  Microsoft's other version of the tablet, the Surface RT, consumes half of its 32GB capacity.

Now, I bet they don't tell you that on the box!

Surface Pro will initially ship to the US and Canada on 9th February with out countries to follow "soon".

(Thanks to The Verge for that news!)
