It's possible that you give very little thought to the Google Doodle.  "What's that", I hear you ask?  It's the replacement image for the Google logo on their home page.  The doodle always incorporates the word 'google' along with other images to commemorate a significant day.

Today, Friday 16 September 2011, we have a logo with oranges and strawberries.

This is to mark the birthday of Albert Szent-Györgyi, Hungarian physiologist, who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1937 for his work on the discovery and understanding of Vitamin C

Google Doodles started life in 1998 and over 1,000 have been designed; Google replacing their corporate logo for a day.  Google take suggestions from the public on future events and have a team of around six doodlers who work on the artwork.

If you are every curious as to what event a doodle is marking simply click on the logo on the search page.
